From Two Rooms to One Dream Space
Ever wondered what happens when you let Stotto loose on a tired old kitchen? Spoiler alert: magic. Our latest project in Northampton is proof that with a little vision (and a lot of tea), you can turn a cramped, dated kitchen into the heart of the home.
The Mission: Knock Through & Level Up
Our lovely clients in Northampton wanted more than just a lick of paint. They dreamed of a bright, open space perfect for family breakfasts, homework marathons, and the occasional dance-off. The answer? A knock through! By removing the dividing wall, we created one big, beautiful kitchen-diner that’s as practical as it is stylish.
The Build Process: How We Made the Magic Happen
1. Planning & Design:
We kicked things off with a friendly chat and plenty of coffee, listening to exactly what our clients wanted (and didn’t want—bye-bye, avocado tiles). We mapped out the new layout, picked finishes, and handled all the boring-but-important stuff like building control and structural engineering.
2. The Knock Through:
Safety first! Our team carefully prepped the area, installed dust sheets (your furniture is safe with us), and got to work removing the dividing wall. We fitted a sturdy steel beam (the unsung hero of open-plan living) to keep everything solid and safe.
3. Electrical & Plumbing Upgrades:
With the new space open, we re-routed electrics and plumbing to suit the new kitchen layout—think extra sockets for all those gadgets, and plumbing ready for the new sink and appliances.
4. The Kitchen Install:
Here’s where the transformation really takes shape! We fitted sleek new units, maximised storage, and installed those gorgeous worktops that are just begging to be shown off on Instagram. Every drawer, door, and handle was fitted with care (and checked twice for that satisfying “soft close” sound).
5. Finishing Touches:
We added statement lighting, a splashback that’s both practical and stylish, and made sure every detail was spot on. The place was given a thorough clean—so the only dust left was in our hair.
6. The Big Reveal:
Our favourite part: inviting the family in to see their new kitchen for the first time. There may have been happy tears. There was definitely tea and biscuits.

We sourced and installed stunning surfaces that are as tough as they are beautiful—ideal for everything from chopping veg to rolling out pastry (or, you know, serving takeaways). The kitchen itself?
